Upchukar Podcast

Aug 24, 2018

Episode 19: Terry Owens and Matt Hardinge join the show to discuss our recent trip into the Ruby Mountains of eastern Nevada to scout for Himalayan Snowcock. This is a bird that is native to the Himalayan region of southern Asia and was introduced into the Ruby Mountains in the 1960s. Since then the mountains have sustained a healthy population giving hunters an opportunity to hunt arguably the holy grail of upland birds.

This hunt would better be described as a poor mans goat hunt. As you are likely to encounter both animals inhabiting the same area.

In this episode we recap our scouting trip and try and provide some helpful tips and advice to others that may want to give it a go.
